Dr. Ezequiel Durand-López – Lab Director
I am currently Assistant Professor of Hispanic Linguistics at College of Charleston. I received my PhD in Bilingualism and Second Language Acquisition at Rutgers University. I hold a B.A. in Linguistics and Literature from Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Universidad Nebrija, Madrid.
My areas of expertise are Spanish Morphology, Psycholinguistics, and Second Language Acquisition. I am interested primarily in how second language learners process word structure and gender agreement, and how working memory modulates these processes.

Brooke Cameron – Senior Hola, my name is Brooke! I am a senior Psychology major and Spanish minor here at the college. I am currently interested in and researching second language processing, particularly that of second language comprehension. Other interests include Neuropsychology, with research on neurological conditions (e.g., neurodevelopmental disorders, traumatic brain injuries, neurodegenerative diseases) being especially captivating.

Andie O’Neill – Senior A lot of my research interests involve the field of psycholinguistics but also cover general psychology. It is fascinating to me how interwoven language and cognitive functioning are, especially as the conversation turns towards bilingualism and multilingualism. I think it is very important to understand the neural and cognitive differences between speakers of different levels. I am also very interested in the cognitive and behavioral aspects of autism. There is a lot to be learned about how neurodivergent brains and behavior differ from those of neurotypical brains and behavior, as well as why they do. Taking the time to understand the reasons for those differences raises questions across many fields of psychology and neuroscience, for both neurodivergent and neurotypical brains, alike.

John Duncan – Senior My name is John Duncan and I’m currently a senior here at the College of Charleston, double majoring in Spanish and International Business. I am participating in the tDCS research study to complete my Spanish degree. This is through an independent study I am conducting focusing on second language acquisition of Spanish.
